The core of our work is spatial analysis and custom cartography. However, we offer a range of spatial services to our clients:

Spatial Analysis

Spatial Analysis involves the use of spatial data to answer questions. For example, combining MB&G’s natural resources experience with its GIS allowed us to delineate the sensitive habitat and species potential of the northern spotted owl.

Custom Cartography

Custom Cartography displays spatial information unique to each project. MB&G produces high-quality maps for its clientele and has created custom mapping applications. A hallmark product is our Millmap Series: this map series details mill types and locations throughout the country, and is updated regularly. We have recently expanded our coverage outside of the Pacific Northwest. Please call for availability and pricing.

Integrated Resource Inventory

Integrated Resource Inventory brings the combined resources of spatial analysis to field inventory. MB&G was a leader in the commercial development of an "integrated approach" to natural resources inventories. GIS, GPS, and digital imagery combine to expedite field efforts and produce accurate results.

GPS Collection / Integration

MB&G is equipped with Trimble units and can collect, attribute, and integrate GPS into your GIS. Our experience with laser-traverse units, linked to ground, mobile and aerial GPS data collection, allows MB&G to efficiently and quickly fulfill you mapping needs.

MB&G personnel are Trimble certified and experienced in GPS data collection, correction and project setup. This means faster and higher accuracy of field collection with on-site editing.

Environmental Modeling

Environmental Modeling entails the prediction or re-creation of natural environmental features in a GIS through their spatial relationships. Modeling has long been a part of natural resource planning – MB&G’s applications show consistently high accuracies.
