Chilean Due Diligence Forestry Inventory Verification

MB&G recently completed a large scale inventory verification project, in support of a land acquisition, for Hancock Timber Resource Group (HTRG) in Chile.  “This is the type of project that highlights all of MB&G’s strengths,” notes Reggie Fay, Associate at MB&G.  “We really excel in projects that require attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.”

MB&G was asked to verify the Radiata Pine (Pinus Radiata) timber inventory estimated on the seller’s 31,700 hectare tree farm.  MB&G designed an inventory verification cruise that consisted of 2,500 plots located in four strata.  Our geospatial group created all the necessary maps and files for the field crew and project managers.  Two MB&G staff, Donald Gagliasso and Reggie Fay, spent four total weeks in Chile working with a local cruising contractor setting up measurement specifications and ensuring that high quality inventory data was collected in a timely manner.  MB&G also worked with a local professor who compiled the inventory data.  MB&G provided a final report to HTRG which summarized the results of the verification cruise.

This job was awarded to MB&G due to our long-standing relationship with HTRG, who selected our team due to our successful past performance on similar job types and the quality of our work.
