Avery Properties Ongoing management of fishery resources on the Avery forestlands (12,600 acres) in Oregon. Monitoring water quality and forest management operations for compliance with the Endangered Species Act. Extensive use of GIS technology to map streams, harvesting activities, and sensitive resource sites for fisheries.
Investor Client (Russia) Evaluated status of green sturgeon, salmonids, and their habitat in streams on Sakhalin Island, Russia.
Federal Highway Administration Prepared training materials and presented a workshop for over 50 FHWA engineers and inspectors regarding recent fish listings under the Endangered Species Act and the potential effects of highway construction and maintenance projects on fish and water quality.
Oregon Department of Transportation Designed and implemented a riparian planting and stream restoration plan for a bridge replacement project at Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge. The creek provides habitat for threatened steelhead and salmon. Project involved planting several thousand trees and shrubs and in-stream work to enhance fish habitat.
City of Salem Preparing a report and accompanying GIS maps depicting historic and current distribution of salmon in Marion County, Oregon. GIS maps will depict all streams in Marion County, natural and man-made barriers to salmon migration, and use of streams based on season and life stage. This project also includes an on-call services component to provide fisheries consultation support to Marion County, the City of Salem, and the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments.
