Douglas Larmour, Ph.D.
Programmer / Forest Analyst
Douglas joined the MB&G Inventory and Biometrics group in 2010 and applies his talent for statistics and modeling to a variety of projects. He uses his analytical skills to produce and analyze forestry yield tables, data training and modeling. Douglas studied multivariate analysis related to the batch processing of wood drying while earning his Master of Science in statistics from Oregon State University. He then earned his Ph.D. in mathematics with his dissertation in number theory from New Mexico State University. For the next few years, he taught at several colleges. With an interest in statistics, Douglas became an expert in prediction of forest metrics based on crown delineation techniques derived from Lidar. At MB&G, Douglas applies his statistical knowledge to a variety of forestry projects.
