Hendrik ‘Henk’ Stander, Ph.D.
Forest Planning Analyst / Associate
Henk has 16 years of experience in forest resource planning and management. He has a wide range of advanced technical skills, including heuristic optimization, linear programming, and statistical analysis. Prior to joining MB&G, Henk worked in forest management planning for a large pulp and paper company, forest policy making for the State of Oregon, and forest valuation and investment analysis for various biomass-to-energy investors. His experience also spans a wide range of countries and forest types, in particular, Southern Africa, Pacific Northwest, Southeastern US, Malaysia and New Zealand. Henk has a Ph.D. in Forest Engineering from Oregon State University, a B.S. in Forestry from University of Stellenbosch, and a B.S. in Geo-Information Science from the University of Pretoria.
